After employees of Electronic Arts had been asking executives at an internal company-wide meeting to make public statements to defend abortion rights and transgender rights, the chief people officer Mala Singh has told the employees that EA will only make public statements that “actually have a positive impact”.
For the best part of a year now, Activision Blizzard has been involved in multiple lawsuits involving sexual harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct, as well as staff filing complaints about initimidation and coercive tactics to stifle staff trying to improve working conditions, but as of May 23rd, the developer Raven Software’s quality assurance workers for the studio behind ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ have successfully voted to unionise as the Game Workers Alliance.
Currently in Closed Alpha, ‘MultiVersus’ is a 2v2 fighting game that uses all manner of characters from properties owned by Warner Bros. This means you can currently have matchups that involve Wonder Woman taking on Shaggy from Scooby Doo, or perhaps Jake and Finn from Adventure Time battling it out against Arya Stark from Game of Thrones and Tom & Jerry. A datamine, however, has revealed multiple characters that could be coming to the game in the future.

The producer of ‘Final Fantasy 16’ has revealed some information about a cancelled game that he and members of the team were working on before being called up to work on ‘Final Fantasy 14’, and it sounds like it was going to be quite different from what he’s worked on previously.
Since 2010 the licence to make games based on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ has been with Warner Bros, and the publisher has had some success with the ‘Middle-earth’ series of games. Before this, however, the licence was with Electronic Arts, and EA made plenty of titles within the franchise, with the final title, ‘The Lord of the Rings: Conquest’ in 2009. But it seems that EA is getting involved again, as a mobile title has been announced by the publisher.
When ‘Wordle’ first came into existence back in October 2021, it’s unlikely anyone realised how much the daily quiz style game was going to take off.
