‘Valheim’ will have cross-play support when it comes to Xbox
With a huge 94 per cent positive rating from over a quarter of a million players on Steam, it’s safe to say ‘Valheim’ has been a major hit for developer Iron Gate Studio and publisher Coffee Stain. During the Summer Games Fest it’s been announced that the title is coming to Xbox and Windows Store on PC, both via Game Pass, and now we also know it’ll support cross-play.
Microsoft makes commitment to Activision Blizzard union neutrality
In January of this year, Microsoft announced it was making plans to acquire the ‘Call of Duty’ publisher Activision Blizzard for around £50billion (or $68billion), and while the deal has yet to be finalised, June 13th saw a “ground-breaking labour neutrality agreement” announced that essentially means once the acquisition is complete, Microsoft will not oppose unionisation discussion.

The games industry has been very vocal about the current invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and due to a March law that was implemented in Russia that criminalised independent war reporting, anti-war protests, and even calling for an end to the war, the author of ‘Metro 2033’ has been put on the wanted list for apparently violating this law.

Shortly after the ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ studio, Raven Software voted to unionise its Q&A team, the Q&A department for the upcoming ‘Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’ title has followed suit, in a unanimous vote with a 16 to 0 vote spread.
France is banning English gaming phrases to preserve language purity
According to French government officials, in order to preserve the purity of the language, many well-known phrases from the gaming community are to be banned, with the culture ministry claiming the games industry is full of English words that might be a barrier to understanding for people who don’t play games.
