Prince was honoured with a tribute concert lasting almost five hours in his homestate of Minnesota yesterday evening.
The gig, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, featured a cast of 15 performers including Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Tori Kelly and more.
As Minnesota’s Star Tribune points out, the concert was slightly lacking in star power due to a number of musicians dropping out at the last minute. Christina Aguilera was forced to cancel due to a sore throat; John Mayor backed out due to recording obligations; and Anita Baker was a no-show due to injury.
The show, however, went on and featured a few performances befitting of the Purple One.
