Activison has addressed a rise in cheaters in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 following its release on Xbox Game Pass.
Modern Warfare 3’s season five went live last week, with the first-person shooter also being made available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for the very first time.
However, players quickly saw a rise in apparent cheaters across the multiplayer game. Now Activision has called on players to help address the issue.
“RICOCHET Anti-Cheat resolved an issue with a detection system over the weekend, which resulted in a spike in cheater reports,” they posted on social media. “For clarity, Team RICHOCHET is able to detect the specific platform for all users, despite how they may appear in-game. If you suspect a player in your lobby is cheating, regardless of platform, we recommend you submit a report in-game for further investigation.”
“We remain committed to combating cheaters, shutting down cheat vendors, and providing our players a fair and fun experience,” with the Modern Warzone X account making light of the situation. “It’s been a warzone out there,” they posted.

However, many players have reportedly been wrongly shadowbanned as a result of the Anti-Cheat update. “We shouldn’t have to report in game, you should detect automatically like a good anti cheat and this would also stop the shadow ban loop, you devs say doesn’t happen,” one fan account, with another claiming cheats are simply signing up for a new Game Pass account after being banned. “Right now, it’s so easy to cheat,” wrote.
