The latest trailer for Venom has been released, and we’re finally given our first glimpse at Tom Hardy’s transformation into the otherworldly Marvel character.
Hardy takes the lead, playing Eddie Brock, a freelance photographer who becomes infected by an alien lifeform and turns into a half-human, half-alien villain – who sees Spider-Man as his arch nemesis.
The clip opens with a mysterious police hunt in a darkened forest, before we’re given a cryptic peek at Brock as his body is overtaken by the titular alien symbiote.
“I’m feeling really sick. I’m hearing a voice”, Brock worryingly remarks early on.

As the clip progresses, we see that the alien symbiote is providing a sinister contrast to Brock’s conscience, leading up to a final moment where he’s fully transformed into Venom – and is about to devour the face of an unsuspecting motorist.
It’s the first time that we’ve seen Hardy’s full transformation into the monstrous creation, after the first trailer remained cryptically vague when it was released in February.
The biopic, directed by Chronicle‘s Josh Trank, follows the last days of Capone’s life as he suffers from dementia and “his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life”.
