Amber Heard has missed a court apperance today (August 12) “due to an unspecified emergency”.

The 30-year-old actress had been due to return to Los Angeles from London to be questioned under oath by her estranged husband Johnny Depp’s legal team over her domestic violence and divorce case.

Legal documents allegedly stated that ”to no fault of her own, Heard was unable to arrange for a flight to travel from London,” reports TMZ.

Her lawyers went on to allege Depp’s legal representatives have been ”waging a malicious war” in an attempt to stop her from speaking out.

The actress’ lawyers, Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig, added: ”Johnny’s counsel continues to wage a malicious war against Amber in the Court of Public Opinion in an effort to intimidate and discourage Amber from telling the truth.”

The legal team went on to suggest Depp will never address the allegations he was violent towards his estranged wife under oath.

They added: ”It is a disturbing shame that Johnny’s lawyers continue to pursue a relentless personal attack against Amber.”

They asked the judge to push the deposition back to Saturday (August 13).

Earlier this week, a court hearing relating to Heard’s restraining order against Depp was delayed.

A Los Angeles court awarded Heard a domestic violence restraining order against Depp on May 28, five days after she filed for divorce from the actor.

Their split came just days after the death of Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, who passed away on May 20.
