In mid-August every year in the Oxfordshire countryside thousands of revellers descend on the stunning Cornbury Park for Wilderness festival: a festival so wonderfully posh that David Cameron has been known to frequent it. And you know what, it’s bloody brilliant. Where else could you enjoy michelin-starred banquets and sing-a-longs with a live orchestra, before catching excellent sets from legends like Nile Rodgers and Chic or the wickedly talented Kamasi Washington. Here’s what happened on the Sunday of Wilderness 2018.
The mainstage
Wander past the Atrium and tequila town and you’ll find the festival’s mainstage, which boasted a huge lineup across the weekend.
Sunny Sunday
After a huge Saturday night of music, that included headliners Nile Rodgers & Chic blitzing through a jampacked back catalogue of huge hits and a DJ set from George Fitzgerald that kept punters dancing in the valley into the early hours of the morning, Sunday morning was a time to ease into the inevitable hangovers. But at Wilderness there were tons of options of how to spend a lazy few hours in the sun, from floral head-dress workshops to paddleboard yoga.

IAMDDB warmed up the crowds with her gorgeous own brand of soul and trap laced hip-hop on the main stage.
Ferris fun
For those who wanted a break from the music, you could hop on the ferris wheel for the best view across the festival site.
Palace
As the baking sun started to relent, Palace treated the audience to a charming set of their indie pop.
Kamasi Washington
The outrageously talented Kamasi Washington delighted with the penultimate performance on Sunday night; blitzing through tunes from his latest record ‘Heaven and Earth’.
Bastille
Indie pop titans Bastille were the final headliners of the weekend, putting on a fiercely fun show full of their total earworms. Decked out in a tie-dye shirt, frontman Dan got the crowd on their feet and dancing.

All good things must come to end, though, so after a buoyant set featuring megahits like ‘Pompeii’ and ‘Of The Night’, it was time to bid Wilderness festival adieu. Until next year!
