It’s fair to say there’s been a little hype around Suicide Squad. The film, which stars Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Will Smith, is a villainous and chaotic antidote to the do-gooding of other superhero movies like The Avengers and 2017’s upcoming Justice League. But this crazy band of murderous misfits have existed for a long time in the DC Comics universe. Let’s see how they shape up from page to screen. Includes: many transitions from Lycra to leather.
Harley Quinn has gone through multiple edits to her costume throughout her career as the Joker’s psychopathic girlfriend. In the 2011 re-boot, DC gave her make-up instead of a mask, which the 2016 film swapped for the pink and blue eyeshadow worn by Margot Robbie.

Katana is an expert swordswoman and martial artist, portrayed by Karen Fukuhara. As Rick Flag’s bodyguard in the 2016 movie, Katana’s swapped out body armour and jumpsuit for a badass bomber jacket, and looks even cooler.

Adam Beach is suited up in rope and leather for his portrayal of escape artist assassin Slipknot, which makes a bit more sense than his comic counterpart’s garish red duds – hardly inconspicuous.
