On Saturday (November 7), Wahaca hosted a one-day festival at London’s Tobacco Dock to celebrate the Day Of The Dead. As well as street food and tequila, the day featured a host of bands, including Mexrrissey, Savages and The Horrors.
Crowds struggled to get into the tent to hear the seven-piece band tackle the Mozfather’s back catalogue with a twist. The whole performance featured songs by the musician, but covered in a Latino style.

Stickswoman Fay Milton drummed up a storm as her bandmates brought dramatic production and ferocious riffs to Tobacco Dock.

Other new songs shared in the set included ‘Sad Person’ and ‘TIWYG’, which saw Beth chanting “This is what you get when you mess with love” over a whopping groove.

The Horrors played their first UK gig since August, using the event as a warm-up for their run of dates supporting Alt-J on their arena tour later this month.

The band got into the spirit of the festival, painting their faces like the sugar skulls linked to the Mexican celebration of the Day Of The Dead.
