Johnny Depp has been spotted making a brief appearance in AMC’s zombie series The Walking Dead it was revealed today (March 8).
The Pirates of The Caribbean star has made a previously undisclosed appearance in last night’s Season 6 episode (March 7).
But – as Entertainment Weekly reports – it wasn’t the real Johnny Depp himself, but a prosthetic head used in a gory scene showing three decapitated heads, of which you can view below.
Depp’s vision was used to model the head on the far right hand side of the image. In the series episode, Andy, Jesus, and Rick have to decide which of three decapitated walkers looks the most like the Hilltop leader.
Greg Nicotero – director of the Walking Dead – said: “One of the other heads, I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp. I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp’s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt. I can’t remember who the third one is, but I’m in good company. Norman [Reedus – Daryl in the show] kept saying he wanted the heads when we were done shooting. I said we’ve got to wait until the picture is logged. I think one of the funniest moments we’ve shot in the season is when the Savior sticks his hand inside the head and puppeteers it to start talking. I laughed so hard when we shot that scene.
Norman Reedus recently spoke out about the time he was bitten by a Walking Dead fan. The incident happened at Walker Stalker Con, a convention for the show, in New Jersey in 2015.
The actor was having his picture taken with the fan before she bit him. The bite did not injure Reedus but the fan was removed from the convention immediately.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week Reedus said: “We took a picture. She started off when she came out, and goes, ‘Sometimes I like to pretend we’re married,’ and to tell you the truth I was so tired at that point I didn’t really register that she said that.”
“And then we took this picture and she sort of morphed into a werewolf. She kind of started to shake and howled. Then she came down and bit me on the chest and howled again. A couple of nice officers tackled her to the ground and she was escorted out.”

Reedus also said the woman ‘left her teeth prints’ on him but afterwards she had no recollection of what had happened. Regardless of the incident Reedus said ‘she was a nice lady’.
Reedus has played the character Daryl Dixon on the hit zombie drama since it began in 2010. The show is currently nearing the end of its sixth season.
