In partnership with Sziget Festival
Zara Larsson helped Sombr kick off his first-ever European festival headline set at Sziget 2026 last night (August 11), with both artists appearing on the event’s main stage.
The Swedish pop star had delivered her own performance at the Budapest festival earlier in the evening, drawing a huge crowd as she sang renditions of ‘Midnight Sun’, ‘Lush Life’ and more.
An hour after Larsson’s set concluded, Sombr took to the stage, with cameras first joining him in the back of a people carrier in the backstage area. Larsson and some of the dancers from her show joined him in the car, exiting the vehicle one by one until the two pop stars left together carrying red cocktails and headed towards the stage.
Sombr’s set featured songs from his debut album, ‘I Barely Know Her’, which was released last year. ‘We Never Dated’ and ‘I Wish I Knew How To Quit You’ served as early crowd-pleasers, before ‘Homewrecker’ united the audience in the first big sing-along of the night. Following the track, the musician reflected on the reception he’d received in the country so far. “This is my first time ever in Hungary,” he shared. “Can I just say, ever since I first got here, your people have been so welcoming. My heart is in Budapest. I love Budapest.”
He continued to acknowledge the milestone in his career that headlining Sziget represents, saying: “This is my first time ever playing a festival in Europe – and I’m headlining. What is going on?!”
Later in the set, Sombr aired his recent single ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’, which tackles the “body image issues I’ve had with my body my whole life”. Ahead of the song, he told the crowd that if they were struggling with similar issues, they were “not alone” and are “beautiful”.

He closed out his set with his two biggest hits to date, ‘Back To Friends’ and ‘12 To 12’. He played the latter song twice.
During ‘Back To Friends’, he sprayed the words “Sombr <3 Budapest” on a black flag and paraded it along the front of the barriers and down the gangway separating the two sides of the crowd. “What time is it?” he asked afterwards. “It’s after your fucking bedtime. It’s nearly 12.” He finished the set by wrapping himself in a Hungarian flag and posing for his photographer in front of the huge audience.
Sombr played:
‘We Never Dated’
‘I Wish I Knew How To Quit You’
‘Under The Mat’
‘Come Closer’
‘Homewrecker’
‘My Body Isn’t Ready’
‘She Looks So Perfect’
‘Undressed’
‘Potential’
‘Crushing’
‘Back To Friends’
‘12 To 12’
‘12 To 12’
Sziget continues today (August 12) with a headline performance from Twenty One Pilots, plus sets from Biffy Clyro, Ashnikko, Tomora and more.
The Budapest festival marks the latest in a series of festival performances this summer for Sombr. Earlier this month, he appeared at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival, where he brought out 5 Seconds Of Summer for a version of the band’s ‘She Looks So Perfect’. The Australian group also provided backup on ‘Back To Friends’.
