NCT rapper Mark has dropped his new solo single, ‘+82 Pressin”, featuring bandmate Haechan.
Both ‘+82 Pressin” and its music video were released on March 19. The song is the latest taste of Mark’s upcoming solo debut album ‘The Firstfruit’, following ‘200’ from May 2024 and January’s ‘Fraktsiya’ featuring rapper Lee Young-ji.
The track, written by the NCT member, is an upbeat hip-hop track with lyrics forming an ode to Seoul, with the title referencing the South Korean country code: “‘+82 pressin’, callin’ me / Soul night, your heartbeat / Can’t stop it / Drum drumming, aw yeah / Brruum pum pum, across your heart strings.”
Mark will release ‘The Firstfruit’ on April 7, the record will contain a total of 13 tracks split into four sections, each corresponding to the four cities – Toronto, Seoul, New York and Vancouver – which have “been his foundation”, a press release said.
In November, the Korean-Canadian musician spoke about the process behind the creation of his solo album, saying his involvement in two NCT units made it “harder” for him to decide on the direction of his solo project.
“I am putting every ounce of my soul into this album, no joke,” he continued. “There isn’t a day that goes by when I’m not working on this album or not thinking about this album. It’s going to be an album that I’m not going to have any regrets on, but I’m just really, really working hard on it.”
