Kesha has posted a statement on her Instagram account in which she claims she rejected a settlement in her Dr Luke case that would have required her to lie.
It’s not clear from the post who made the offer to the singer, who has an ongoing legal case against former producer Dr Luke over her contract. She is currently appealing a court refusal to release her from the contract, which she has compared to ‘Slavery’, and confirmed last week that she is working on new music.
“so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie,” Kesha says in the post. “I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”

Earlier this week, Kesha launched an appeal against the court ruling last month decreeing that she must stay in her recording contract with Dr Luke, who she has accused of raping her.
The singer’s lawyer Mark Geragos contends that Justice Shirley Kornreich made an error when she ruled that Kesha should continue to record for Dr Luke’s Sony-affiliated Kemosabe imprint.
Dr Luke has repeatedly denied the accusations and released a statement via his lawyer. “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her,” he added on Twitter, claiming that Kesha’s lawsuit is “motivated by money”.
The ‘Timber’ star recently received the Human Rights Campaign’s Visibility Award at the 2016 Nashville Equality Dinner on March 5. “As many of you know I am going through some personal things that have been really intense and hard lately, and I just want to say thank you for any support I have received,” she said in her acceptance speech.
Kesha’s last album ‘Warrior’ came out in 2012. Her 2009 single ‘Tik Tok’ is currently the third best-selling digital single of all time.
