Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ended a concert at Madison Square Garden after just 90 minutes due to a sinus infection.
On Thursday (July 23), the musician was performing the eighth night of a nine-show residency at the New York City venue as part of Bon Jovi’s ‘Forever’ tour, but was forced to stop the show and walk offstage.
Videos show him telling the crowd: “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out, ok? Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule.” He then hugged his bandmates and gave the cheering crowd a thumbs-up as he left the stage.
A rep for Bon Jovi said in a statement: “Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection which led to the show’s early ending.
“As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly.”
Bon Jovi are slated to play the final MSG show of the tour on Sunday night (July 26), before playing a run of UK and Ireland shows later this year.
They initially announced a show at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on August 28, followed by Croke Park in Dublin on August 30 and finally a giant show at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 4. However, the band went on to add two more dates to their Wembley shows due to phenomenal demand.

The tour is the first for Bon Jovi since the singer had surgery in 2022 to repair a damaged vocal cord.
In 2024, Jon Bon Jovi spoke to NME about the possibility of touring ‘Forever’ following his vocal surgery, and at the time, said he was “much further down the road to recovery”, but cautioned: “I’m still not confident I could do two-and-a-half hours a night, four days a week and I won’t book a gig until I’ve done that on a rehearsal level.
“At this moment in time, we’re rehearsing once a month just to see the progress. I’m not there yet and it blows.”
