IVE, aespa, SEVENTEEN and more have been announced as part of original soundtrack for upcoming K-drama, Resident Playbook.
South Korean cable network tVN unveiled the star-studded line-up on April 8 via a poster shared via social media, alongside an OST trailer video clip. Resident Playbook is an upcoming spin-off from the popular Hospital Playlist series, due to premiere on Netflix on April 12.
The Resident Playbook soundtrack is set to feature new original songs performed by Stray Kids’ Lee Know, Seungmin and I.N, IVE’s Yujin, EXO’s D.O, aespa’s Winter, TXT, SEVENTEEN’s DK AND (G)I-DLE‘s Minnie. The announcement also hinted at more artists to be included in the soundtrack, to be revealed at a later stage.
Resident Playbook follows the vibrant and unpredictable lives of a team of first year OB/GYN residents as they navigate their individually challenging journeys toward becoming medical professionals at the Jongno Yulje Medical Center.
“To match the narrative of the youth starting fresh, we composed the OST lineup exclusively with young idols. The music, infused with the diverse personalities and emotions of the artists, is expected to enhance the viewers’ immersion in the story,” the production team behind Resident Playbook said of the soundtrack.
Resident Playbook‘s ensemble cast features Alchemy of Souls breakout star Go Youn-jung as Oh Yi-young, rookie actress Shin Shi-a as Pyo Nam-kyung and Kang You-seok – who currently appears on When Life Gives You Tangerines – as Um Jae-il.
In other K-drama news, the streaming platform also recently dropped the main trailer for another upcoming K-drama titled Heavenly Ever After, starring Son Seok-koo. Also starring veteran actress Kim Hye-ja, the new series is due to premiere on April 19 with new episodes releasing every Saturday and Sunday thereafter.
