Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel made by original creator Xia Siyuan.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was created by the Lenzee studio, led by creative director Xia Siyuan. The soulslike action role-playing game was released in 2025 and was played by more than 5million players in its first twelve months.

The game was set in the land of Shu during the dark and tumultuous late Ming Dynasty with players having to deal with warring factions and a mysterious illness known as the Feathering. “Become Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior struck by amnesia, who must navigate the uncertainties of her mysterious past while afflicted by the horrific Feathering disease,” reads an official description of the game. “Explore the depths of Shu, enhancing your arsenal and mastering new skills harvested from fallen foes.”

Despite the success of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, it was reported (via Eurogamer) that producer and director Xia Siyuan left Lenzee in February with many of the game’s core developers also leaving. Fans of the game were worried that a sequel would never be made.

However this morning (July 29) Digital Bros. announced a publishing agreement with Suyuan’s new studio Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology. “[We] have entered into a development and publishing agreement with Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co. Ltd. for the development of the sequel to the soulslike action RPG [Wuchang: Fallen Feathers],” reads a press release.  The initial investment for the game amounts to €21.5 million.

“We are delighted to once again enter into a deep partnership with 505 Games under our new studio brand, Chengdu Indolphinity,” said Suyuan in a statement (via ResetEra). “We take player and community feedback seriously while remaining committed to our original vision and cultural roots. We will strive to deliver higher quality and a more complete experience in response to players’ long-standing expectations. The story of Wuchang is not over. Chengdu Indolphinity and 505 Games will embark on a new journey together, opening a brand-new chapter for this story rooted in Eastern soil.”

“We are committed to preserving the cultural authenticity of this IP, keeping its creative heart rooted in China while bringing the world of Wuchang to players around the globe,” added Digital Bros co-founder Raffi Galante.

A release window hasn’t been announced.
