Gaming fans have compiled a list of all the Microsoft-owned titles currently missing from Xbox Game Pass – check it out below.
While negotiating with regulators ahead of Microsoft’s £59.4billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, boss Phil Spencer wrote a lengthy blog post that heavily implied that all Activision Blizzard and Bethesda titles would be made available via Game Pass, if the deal went ahead.
“Subscription services like Game Pass make gaming more affordable and help players from all over the world find their next favourite game,” he explained. “Game Pass empowers developers to bring more games to more players, not fewer. We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo and Call Of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities.”
Microsoft repeated the promise in 2024 when Diablo 4 came to Game Pass. “There will be even more to play as we begin to fulfill our commitment to offer Activision and Blizzard games with Game Pass, both new releases and classic games from its legendary catalog.”
A handful of classics have appeared on the service in recent months, including Doom (2016) and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. However, more than two years after the deal was agreed, hundreds of classic games are still missing from Xbox Game Pass.
Super proud to collaborate with @JezCorden on this article. It feels like Xbox has forgotten its commitment to bring us Activision Blizzards back catalog, even excluding the ganes that aren't backwards compatible.
