The soundtrack to Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is coming to streaming next week ahead of the game’s launch on August 27 – pre-save it here.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a prequel to the beloved action-adventure title A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game “follows the young, fierce Sophia as she journeys to the Minotaur’s Island, outsmarts deadly foes, unravels ancient secrets, and confronts a mythical creature at the heart of a devastating curse.” It’s set to launch August 27 for PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and will also be a Day One Xbox Game Pass title.
Before that though, the original soundtrack from Olivier Derivière (who worked on the first two Plague Tale games, as well as South Of Midnight and Dying Light 2) is set to get a digital release. It’ll be available to buy Monday (August 17) as well as appearing on streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. Pre-save it here.
“I feel incredibly privileged to be working on games like Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, as they allow me to explore music and emotion in a truly unique way,” Derivière said in a statement. “The entire soundtrack is a musical journey, moving between an intimate human story and a mystical enigma. The structure of the [original soundtrack] mirrors the structure of the game and, I believe, can also be experienced as a complete journey on its own. While there is a narrative woven throughout, it is the music’s spiritual dimension that guided me the most throughout its creation.”
For the soundtrack, Derivière worked with The Amalgamation Choir, a unique Cypriot-Greek choir comprising 20 female vocalists led by the renowned Vasiliki Anastasiou. Famed Cypriot soloists Anastasiou and Giorgos Kalogirou as well as Yaylı tambur and rebab (bowed string instruments) performed by Evgenios Voulgaris, Carnyx performed by Samuel Meric, Bouzouki, guitar performed by Giani Caserotto and cello by Deriviere’s long-time collaborator, Eric-Maria Couturier also feature in the music of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
“I couldn’t be more grateful to all the musicians involved, who brought so much of their own culture, artistry, and personality to the score. More than just a soundtrack, this album is an invitation to experience a unique interpretation of some of the oldest Greek myths,” added Derivière.
So far, three songs from the Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy soundtrack have been released – ‘Patera’, ‘The Land’ and ‘The Flight Of The Braves’.
In other news, former Svalbard vocalist Serena Cherry has announced her second solo album as Noctule – and it’s inspired by Elden Ring.
