One Pokémon TCG Pocket player has already caught ‘em all, spending close to £1200 in the process.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a free-to-play mobile collecting game. Players can open two free boosters in a 24-hour period with each packet containing five random cards while developers have also released a handful of limited-edition cards as rewards for in-game events. In total, there are currently 303 different cards to collect and one player has already got them all.
Taking to Reddit, Weens4Life shared a screenshot of the reward they got for finishing the game. “Congratulations! You’ve collected every card in this expansion,” reads the message. While Pocket is free-to-play, fans can buy Pokegold for physical-world money to open more boosters.
Took a little longer than I expected but it’s done! 🙃🫶🏻#Pokemon #PokemonCardPocket #PokemonTCGP #PokemonPocket #PokemonTCG pic.twitter.com/vxrnuAQkeD

They went on to explain that it cost them $200 (£157) to collect every Pokémon but discovering every rare variant cost them $1500 (£1184). “It took opening 1741 packs and collecting 8582 cards. There is no reward for doing this,” they wrote. Opening that many boosters also took the player to level 47. Their most common card is the standard Slowpoke, which they pulled 129 times.
Pokémon TCG Pocket launched at the end of October. It’s been reported that and has earned developers over $120million (£94.6million).
