Warner Bros. has confirmed that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is the studio’s highest priority and will tie into HBO’s Harry Potter remake.

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 and despite some fans boycotting the game over Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowlings anti-trans comments, it went on to become the biggest selling game of the year. Warner Bros. have since confirmed the title has sold over 30million copies.
Shortly after launch, developers confirmed there were no plans for Hogwarts Legacy DLC although the game will be updated to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
In January, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad confirmed a number of Harry Potter games were in the works following the success of while a job listing at developers Avalanche Software hinted at a sequel. The studio was looking to fill a number of roles to work on a new “” that would have elements of magic and combat.
