Nintendo has angered fans by censoring the Switch release of NSFW superhero game Dispatch.
Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy game that brings together action, adventure, puzzle and strategy. “Manage a dysfunctional team of misfit heroes and strategise who to send to emergencies around the city, all while balancing office politics, personal relationships, and your own quest to become a hero,” reads an official description.
The game has an “overwhelmingly positive” user review score on Steam and “generally favourable” critic score on review aggregate site Metacritic.
As part of the gameplay, Dispatch features a lot of nudity, severe profanity, moderate gore and at least one sex scene. For the 2025 PlayStation and PC release, developers AdHoc added a “visual censorship toggle” for gamers who didn’t want to see cartoon genitalia.
Dispatch is out today for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 but fans have discovered that certain elements of the game have been censored, with no way to change it.

“Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually. For our Switch release, we worked with Nintendo to adapt certain elements so Dispatch could be on their platform,” said AdHoc in a statement to Nintendolife. “The core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release.”
“This is ridiculous. I preloaded the game and I won’t play it until they remove the censorship,” one Reddit user with others asking for a refund over the decision. “Really annoyed that they chose not to mention this until release day,” another. “Adults don’t need their adult content censored, we know what the fuck we are watching,” a third.
