The Fortnite servers are still down currently as Epic is updating the game for Chapter 6 Season 2. The latest update came ahead of Season 2’s launch on the Fortnite Status X account stating when downtime would occur. We don’t know when it will finish as of right now.
This isn’t the first time we have seen server downtime overrun or last for much longer than intended. Epic has had issues launching seasons in recent months and years, and this extended period of downtime isn’t unusual. Nevertheless, it is still frustrating, and we have hopes that the full update and new season will be playable soon.
