Y Not is one of the nation’s most beautiful festivals. Taking place in the Peak District, it boasts rolling hills, gorgeous scenes and a whole load of indie goodness. This year, the festival was occupied by some of the nation’s finest bands, with The Libertines, Manic Street Preachers, Catfish and The Bottlemen all joining rising acts like Circa Waves, Fickle Friends and The Sherlocks on the bill. Our mate Bambi Paradise headed on down for another scorching weekend.
1Y The Hell Not?
Bambi Paradise took a trip up to the beautiful Peak District for Y Not Festival to have a great time, watch some ace bands and, of course, stand in front of this big sign for a pic.
2T-Shirt Weather
Circa Waves have become staples on the festival circuit for the last few summers and it’s easy to see why: their straight-up indie anthems whip up a storm wherever they go.
3Hip-Hip-Hair Spray!
Keeping a strong look at a festival is tricky, but a bit of TLC here and there and a handy VO5 Spray in your bag ought to sort it out.
4Crowd Control
The Y Not crowd were well up for a crowdsurf, moshpit, singalong – you name it, they did it.
5Bass Ace
If you dig The Courteeners and early Oasis – The Sherlocks are for you. They pair big ol’ choruses with witty, every day observations for relatable lyrics within the anthems.
6Stack It Up
Bambi, rocking a vintage dress and some trusty Doc Martens, played a bit of Extreme Jenga inbetween running around and seeing loads of bands. She’ll be playing Buckaroo next year, probably.
7Popping Off
“Hands up, who hasn’t had a shower all weekend?”
8Laugh It Off
Bambi just passed her Bumper Car Driving Test and seems pretty damn pleased with herself. Just the three minors.
9Child’s Play
You know what they say, nothing relaxes you more after a weekend of debauchery than lying in a ball pit. Onto the next one!
