The cancellations come after Matty Healy criticised the Malaysian government for their anti-LGBT laws and kissed the band's bassist onstage at Good Vibes Fest, which was halted as a result
The remaining two days of Good Vibes Festival were ordered cancelled by authorities, with Malaysia’s communications minister stating “there will be no compromise with any party that challenges, belittles or violates Malaysian laws”
"I do not see the point of inviting The 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with," said Healy
“Why don’t you apologise for once in your life without making it about your fucking self?”
Filling in for Lewis Capaldi, the band will deliver a "10th anniversary performance" of their 2013 debut album
It comes following a recently announced tour of North America
